Tomczykiewicz appointed Civic Platform's caucus head
Tomasz Tomczykiewicz was appointed new head of ruling Civic Platform's parliamentary caucus, government spokesman Pawel Gras said during the PO caucus meeting on Thursday. Tomczykiewicz's candidacy was recommended by PM Donald Tusk. Tomczykiewicz, 49, head of PO branch in Slask, southern Poland, replaced Grzegorz Schetyna who has been elected Sejm Speaker.
Tomczykiewicz said Thursday that he talked with the Prime Minister on Wednesday and accepted the proposal to be a candidate for Sejm caucus head.
